What Blacklight shows
Blacklight recreates a blacklight party: on a big matte black wall, fluorescent paint is thrown to the music and glows pink, green, yellow, orange and UV blue. Every splatter has its own shape, an organic blot crowned with spikes, dozens of droplets flung in one direction and a few streaks; squirts cross the wall, drips run slowly down and end in a drop, hands and fingers get pressed into it. The title and the artist are written with a fluorescent brush.
A splatter lands on every beat, a squirt on every bar, and the palette changes with every phrase. In the build-up the UV tubes strobe and the splatters get smaller and faster; on the drop, eight splatters burst out from the centre in a UV flash. When the wall is covered, a black roller sweeps across in one beat and wipes everything. For house, EDM, hip-hop, techno and bass music.
