What Slitscan shows
Slitscan revives the slit-scan of experimental films and of the stargate in 2001. A very simple little scene, neon shapes turning around your album art, is filmed continuously; each part of the screen shows it with a different delay, so every shape stretches into ribbons, waves and whirls.
The delay map changes on every phrase: across, down, in rings, in a spiral, like fluted glass or like a liquid. On the bar the past switches sides, during the build-up everything melts, and on the drop the picture snaps back into focus before unfolding again. For techno, psytrance, IDM and electro.
