Chladni — Chladni sand patterns

A metal plate covered in sand, where the music draws patterns.

What Chladni shows

Chladni recreates a famous physics experiment: a plate dusted with sand, set vibrating, gathers the grains along the lines that stay still. Curves, crosses and rosettes appear, lit by a low, grazing light.

Each change of note or section brings a new figure, and the sand slowly migrates from one to the next. A contemplative world for ambient, neoclassical and minimal electronic music.
