Cycle — demoscene colour cycling

The artwork turned into a field of colours rotating to the rhythm, like a 1990s demo.

What Cycle shows

Cycle borrows a demoscene trick: the album image is reduced to thirty-two colours, and it is the palette itself that rotates. Nothing really moves, yet everything flows, carried by a plasma field that warps the picture.

The colours step forward on every beat and the plasma churns with the energy. A retro, hypnotic world for synthwave, chiptune, electro and pop that always takes the colours of the song that is playing.

Questions about Cycle

What music does Cycle suit best?

Cycle is designed for synthwave, chiptune, electro, pop, ideally between 110 and 175 BPM. Halofloor picks it on its own when a song suits it, and you can also force it from the console.

Is Cycle free?

Cycle is part of Halofloor’s free plan, with no time limit and no credit card. Just open the console and start your music.

Is Cycle a video?

Every frame of Cycle is computed live by your computer from the song’s analysis: tempo, energy, build-ups and drops. It never repeats from one song to the next.

What kind of TV do I need?

Any TV with an HDMI input works, smart or not. The computer renders the visuals and the TV displays them, with no app to install.
