What Thunderhead shows

Thunderhead sets an anvil-shaped thundercloud above a sleeping plain, with lone trees and a line of telegraph poles. The lightning is born inside the mass: the cloud lights up from within, its thick billows stay dark and its whole relief shows, tinted violet and pink. Around it, the stars fade as the storm draws closer.

Each flash jumps from one cell to the next in two to four flickering glows, and around the tenth second a branching bolt strikes the horizon and lights the plain. The lightning follows the accents of the music, never more than once every two seconds, and the whole screen never flashes. For post-rock, ambient, film music, trip-hop and neoclassical.
