What Tvwall shows
Tvwall shows a real photographed wall of old cathode-ray television sets, twenty-eight of them stacked in their plastic or wooden cases, each screen cut out with its perspective, its curved glass, its reflections, its scanlines and its grain. Every set shows its own channel: colour bars, a close-up of the cover, an oscilloscope, a countdown leader, a checkerboard, a test card.
On the first beat of every bar they all switch, in a wave, to one giant picture spread across the wall, the cover, the title or shapes, with a flash of static between channels, and the light of the screens colours the neighbouring cases. On the kicks a set shuts down to a white dot and comes back; on the drop the whole wall goes dark, holds a beat of silence, then lights up at once on the cover. For techno, electro, hip-hop, synthwave and rock.
