What Glass shows
Glass enlarges your album art to full screen, sharp, slightly darkened, drifting slowly. In front of it float two to five glass objects: a triangular prism, a sphere, a lens, a bevelled cube, a faceted crystal. Through them the art is truly refracted: inverted in the sphere, magnified in the lens, multiplied facet by facet in the crystal, and light splits along the edges into crisp iridescent fringes. A Fresnel reflection on the rims, flashes of light sweeping the background when an object turns.
The rotation is slow, with a jolt on every bar; the size breathes on the beat and an edge lights up. Bass pulls the objects towards the centre and makes them grow, treble increases the dispersion. Every phrase the background changes: the art alone, as a grid, or bands of its colours; every scene, a new set of objects. On the drop they line up in front of the centre and the art folds into a glass kaleidoscope for two bars. For melodic house, pop, electro, downtempo and R&B.
