What Julia shows

Julia computes a full-screen Julia fractal live. Its parameter travels along the edge of the Mandelbrot set, where the finest shapes live, and every track draws its own path: the same song always takes the same journey. The colours, taken from your album art, flow into the spirals without ever forming bands, and the inside of the fractal fills with patterns instead of flat black.

On a ballad the shapes stay round and soft, the colours deep. As the music rises the fractal frays into filaments, shivers on every beat and slowly dives into a spiral before coming back out. On the drop it switches to a lightning shape for four bars, colours inverted. From ambient to trance.

Questions about Julia

What music does Julia suit best?

Julia is designed for ambient, pop, house, techno, trance, ideally between 60 and 170 BPM. Halofloor picks it on its own when a song suits it, and you can also force it from the console.

Is Julia free?

Julia is part of Halofloor’s free plan, with no time limit and no credit card. Just open the console and start your music.

Is Julia a video?

Every frame of Julia is computed live by your computer from the song’s analysis: tempo, energy, build-ups and drops. It never repeats from one song to the next.

What kind of TV do I need?

Any TV with an HDMI input works, smart or not. The computer renders the visuals and the TV displays them, with no app to install.
