What Kintsugi shows

Kintsugi borrows the Japanese art of repairing ceramics with gold. A black lacquered bowl, seen from above, turns slowly, with the album art resting at the bottom. Its cracks are drawn from the song’s title, so every song has its own bowl.

Starting from a point on the rim, the gold flows slowly through the cracks, one after another, faster during intense passages. By the end of the song the bowl is fully veined with gold. No pulse on the beat: a contemplative world for ambient, piano, neoclassical and slow jazz.
