What Startrails shows

Startrails starts from a real photograph: a rock arch in the middle of the desert at nightfall. Three thousand stars turn around the celestial pole above it. At the start of the song they are points; by the end, long concentric arcs that pass through the arch and stop sharply at the rock’s silhouette.

The trails grow with the song’s progress and never mark the beat. The number of stars follows the energy of the music over several bars, and a shooting star sometimes crosses the sky on the big moments. A contemplative world for ambient, post-rock and film music.
