What Bauhaus shows
Bauhaus composes a thirty-element poster on cream paper: large shapes cut by the edge, circles, triangles, bars, diagonal black rules, hairlines, rows of dots, checkerboards and hatching, and the song title in geometric capitals whose first letter rises to a third of the screen. The inks overprint as on a real press: blue over yellow turns deep green, with the halftone and the slight misregistration of the plates; cut-paper pieces are pasted on top with their shadows. One colour comes from your album art.
Each family of shapes plays an instrument: the big blue circles beat the kick and release a ring, the bars slide with the bass, the yellow triangles turn on the snare, the rows of dots light up on the eighth notes like hi-hats, the arcs open with the melody. On every phrase a new poster arrives: printed colour by colour, opened as an iris, glided shape by shape, or the old one split in two and sliding away. On the drop everything plays at full swing and the letters of the title scatter, then come back together. For pop, electro-pop, jazz, funk, house and indie.
